Bad planning?

What seemed such a good plan when I booked flights to Japan last winter, struck me as pretty silly this week as I lay on the couch with a temperature watching the football. Leaving home comforts in the middle of the World Cup perhaps isn’t such a good idea, especially as England still has an interest. But even that’s probably not going to last. Nevertheless, if Holland go all the way – apologies to Raph here - being several thousand miles away from the brouhaha offers THE ideal getaway. Anyway, let’s stop counting chickens for now.

It started out as a rough plan. In the great scheme of things, three weeks in Japan isn't really a long time for the “trip of a lifetime”. So, over the months the plan has evolved and matured. It’s now almost time to go.And here’s hoping that that there’s somewhere in Kyoto at 3 o'clock in the morning to watch the World Cup final. Japan here we come!
